About No Buy Challenge

A free, practical place to plan a realistic pause from buying — with essentials always protected and your plan kept private.

What this site is for

No Buy Challenge helps people plan, follow and finish a realistic pause from buying selected nonessential things. It offers guides that answer one question each, a builder for writing your own rules, a private tracker, a purchase pause list, an inventory worksheet and free printables in A4 and US Letter.

The site’s working definitions: a no-buy pauses chosen categories of things; a low-buy allows them within limits you set; a no-spend pauses chosen discretionary spending. None of them means going without what you need.

Who runs it

The site is operated and edited by Kamel Medlej. He writes and edits the guides, tools and printables. He is not a licensed financial adviser, therapist or medical professional, and the site does not claim expert review it has not had. Where a guide states a fact about money, health or product safety, it cites a public source that was opened and checked; see sources and methodology.

How it is funded

Everything here is free: no subscriptions, no paid tools, no accounts, no paywalls. The site may show clearly labeled display advertising on editorial pages in the future. Ads will never appear inside the private workspace or the planning tools, and an advertiser will never decide what a guide says. There are no affiliate links or product recommendations.

What the site will never do

  • Invent testimonials, user counts, savings results, statistics or expert credentials.
  • Show a “money saved” total based on purchases you didn’t make.
  • Send your plan, notes or lists anywhere — they stay in your browser.
  • Use shame, streak punishment or fake urgency.
