One page, one job
Before a guide is written, it gets a short brief: the reader’s main question, their likely starting situation, the outcome the page should help them reach, what it adds that another page does not (an example, a table, a worksheet), and the next step it hands them. If a question can be answered fully by a section of an existing page, it becomes that section instead of a new page.
How guides are written
- The main answer comes first, in plain American English.
- Practical suggestions are labeled as suggestions, not as proven methods.
- Every hypothetical scenario and numerical example is marked as illustrative, and examples match the worksheets and tools they refer to.
- Dollar amounts, when used at all, are illustrative US-dollar examples.
- Guides avoid shame language and never present financial hardship as a lack of discipline.
- Rules always protect essential spending: food, medicine and health care, housing, utilities, transport people rely on, required payments and necessary replacements.
Sources
Factual claims about money, health, product safety or regulation cite a public source that was opened and read, with the date it was checked. A source must support the specific claim — not just the topic. If a claim cannot be verified, it is removed or rewritten. The full register is on sources and methodology.
What is never published
Invented personal experiences, reader stories or testimonials; expert reviewers or credentials that do not exist; survey results, statistics or savings outcomes without a source; publication or update dates that are not real; claims that a tool, waiting period or challenge treats a health condition.
Review and updates
Guides are written and edited by the site operator, Kamel Medlej. They have not been reviewed by a licensed financial, legal, medical or mental-health professional, and pages say so. The “updated” date changes only when a guide changes substantively. Corrections are welcome through the contact page and are fixed as soon as they are checked.
Advertising and independence
If advertising is enabled, it is labeled, kept visibly separate from guides, tools and download buttons, and absent from the private workspace. Advertisers have no influence on content. The site has no affiliate links.
